Iditarod Sled Dog Race

The Iditarod, also referred to as the “Last Great Race on Earth”, is located in Alaska but is an international past time for dog sledders.  The race covers over 1150 miles, features temperatures well below zero, winds that can cause complete loss of visibility  and offers some of the most magnificent natural beauty you can imagine.   Dog teams consist of 12-16 dogs and travel the race course in 10 to 17 days.   A true wonder of Mother Nature and raw determination, the Iditarod is like no other race in the world.
