SEPTEMBER 28, 2012 IS WORLD RABIES DAY.
Living in a modern country with the latest medical advances and services available to our citizens, we can easily forget that rabies is still a threat to us today. Because of aggressive public awareness programs over the past 50+ years, aimed at educating the public to vaccinate dogs, cats and ferrets against rabies, the incidence of rabies has steadily declined in the United States over these years. That doesn’t mean however, we can afford to become complacent due to a false sense of security. The law in Massachusetts requires all domestic animals to be rabies vaccinated; it’s also the best health care for your pets. Be sure to check with your veterinarian about your pets’ rabies vaccinations status. Call us at 978-454-8272 to check on your pets’ rabies status, and for more information about World Rabies Day 2012, go to www.wignall.com.
